Borderline is a venue we were looking forward to playing… so many amazing bands have played on that stage and passed through those doors… there are listings of all of them up on the walls as you enter the place. Man, we were excited!! Bands like The Dave Matthews Band, R.E.M., Lenny Kravitz, OASIS etc. have all played here and many, many, more. To be honest we expected more people to attend, but we played our hearts out regardless for those who did come along. Thanks again to them!! :)
Part of the problem was lack of promotion although we tried to do what we could through the UK/LT paper and the embassy newsletters. Also we’ve been very busy in Lithuania working on the release of “Deadly”, our new summer african beats album and doing some endorsement deals. Anyways, the plan is we’ll be back in the UK for another tour in October. Dates are already being put in place and we intend to have the earliest advertising possible from next month. Watch this space :)
Now that we’re back in LT we’ve got lots of press to do following the release of “Deadly”. The first radio single “Under The Sun” is on radios now, people can vote for it on Radiocentras Top 20 or M-1 (if they like it. “Under The Sun” is a feel-good african dance track. That’s the best way to describe it. And it’s about being under the sun, feeling at ease, on holiday, relaxing, having fun and just replenishing the soul really :) “Deadly” will be put for sale on www.cdbaby.com where we sell our other previous albums by the way!! N.B.: For those of you who’ve tried to get “Green” the album on cdbaby.com and have failed, that’s because it’s out of print here in LT!! Nothing we can do about it. Sorry. Most likely next year we’ll get it reprinted :)
Finally I’d like to say on behalf of SKAMP that we appreciate all of you who supported our UK/IRL tour. Without you it would have been shite :) Hopefully Autumn will be even more successful!! By the way I’d strongly recommend attending this Friday’s (July 29th) pary in Gravity! DJ Marek Szierocki will be in town, an old mate from the Discomafia crew who’s lived in London for 6 years now. No doubt he’ll rock the house!! :)
‘Til next time *peace*
