Their 2023 album “Difficult Messages”, featuring various collaborators, was described by The Wire magazine as “a greatest hits comp from another planet” while “The Quietus” added that “”it captures something of the underlying culture of folk weirdness that Wolf Eyes spring from and continue to be apart of”. Similar song structures and collaborative methods were explored on two further releases: “Dreams in Splattered Lines” and “More Difficult Messages”.

Wolf Eyes have collaborated with such artists as Smegma, John Wiese, Merzbow, Black Dice and Aaron Dilloway, who was a full-time member of the band between 1998 and 2005.

Wolf Eyes played in Riga in 2006 and 2007. In 2013, when Skaņu Mežs festival celebrated its 10th birthday, band member Nate Young was asked to create an alternate soundtrack for the classic Latvian film “Nāves Ēnā” (“In the Shadow of Death”).
